In addition, community officials are expected to be on hand for the salute to our true community heroes. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will have food, fun, games and activities for the entire family.

Organizing churches of the event want to say thank you to the heroes who put their lives on the line every day, gather the community to do so, and to communicate that Jesus Christ is the model for sacrifice.

On Thursday, September 8th, there will be a citywide prayer service on the Celebrate Sacrifice grounds at 1800 NE Independence Ave. The prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm and continue until 8:30 pm. that risk their lives to serve and protect us. Bring your umbrella if needed. For more information contact Steve Bartlett at: 816-524-5575.
