Perfecting Church’s Youths to Celebrate
Purity With White Night Featuring J. Moss

Detroit, Mich. (August 12, 2005) – White night isn’t just for adults anymore. Perfecting Church, in Detroit, is sponsoring one that’s just for youths at 7 p.m. on
Friday, Aug. 19 at the Millennium Centre in Southfield.

Dressed in their best whites, they will celebrate purity with a concert featuring special contemporary musical guest J. Moss. Best known for songs including “We Must Praise,” “I Wanna Be” and “Livin”, Moss is one-third of the writing and production team PAJAM.

Daniel Norwood, Perfecting’s youth director, expects the semi-formal/casual evening to fill the Southfield location with 1,000 youths ages 12-21 who are looking forward to enjoying pure fun created especially for them.

“White parties have been going on for years in formal scenes, but it became popular with our inner city young people when music recording artists started doing it,” Norwood said. “Their gatherings are more like cabarets, but they call them white parties. Considering that white is the color of purity we’re going to have white. So, they can wear their most casual white to their Sean Jean Diddy-style white.”

While they’re having a good time Perfecting’s Pastor Marvin L. Winans hopes they are encouraged to live right in their everyday lives, no matter what’s going on around them.

“Today’s youths are surrounded by influences that tell them impure actions are the ‘in’ thing and purity is outdated,” said Winans, also a member of the famous family gospel singing group The Winans. “I want our youths to know that the world may change, but God’s Word remains the same. Living holy can be fun. So, we’re going to have a good time at the White Party celebrating purity as a whole which includes
sexual purity, pure minds, pure thoughts, integrity and honesty.”

White Night is part of Perfecting Church’s “In Pursuit of Purity Youth Weekend ’05” which takes place from Thursday, Aug. 18 until Sunday, Aug. 21.
