JDavis Architects To Compete In “Canstruction®” Competition
Architecture Firm To Help Raise Money For The Food Bank Of North Carolina

Raleigh, NC – Jeff Davis, President of JDavis Architects, PLLC, a full-service architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firm, has announced that the company will be participating in a national “Canstruction” design/build competition with proceeds to benefit the Food Bank of North Carolina. Canstruction is a unique competition where competing teams, lead by architects and engineers,
showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. JDavis Architects are currently seeking corporate and individual sponsors to help fund their project – to construct a pair of urban “Canstruction” boots made from 3,000 cans of food. Sponsors’ names will be listed in the official Canstruction program and displayed alongside the JDavis sculpture throughout the duration of the exhibit. The competition will take place at Raleigh’s Exploris Museum on October 23rd and 24th, and the “canscupltures” will be open to public viewing until January 8th.

“Canstruction plays a vital role in helping to meet the provisional needs of the hurricane survivors who have been relocated to the Triangle, as well as our own local residents,” said Davis. “Our company is proud to participate in a competition that helps raise money for Food Bank of North Carolina.”

About Canstruction®:
Trademarked by the Society of Design Administration, and working in tandem with the American Institute of Architects and other members of the design and construction industry, Canstruction is making a significant contribution to the fight against hunger. Canstruction combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition
with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Competing teams, lead by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibitions, all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers.
