Press Release Body = Several years agoi Pigeon Forge hairstylist Carole Lyden Smith
dreamed of a tornado and woke up thinking of hair. In her sleep, she watched a
tornado rip a swath through a forest, shredding twisted branches and leaves into a
twister's trademark spiral pattern.

The message Smith took from her dream has inspired a ground breaking haircut. The
"twister" dream helped her come up with a way to cut hair like a tornado rips into a
forest. She literlly cuts curl into the hair.

"I woke up and yelled 'Holy Cow'" says Smith. "I told my husband who's an engineer,
'I think I'm supposed to design a shear that cuts curl into the hair.' He laughed
and asked me if I had too much cheese on my pizza the night before.

Smith has written several books on hairstyling, is a 35 year veteran of the
industry, and had previously patented several haircutting scissors. The principle
behind the shears is that the cutting blades are curved and a torque is placed one
inch in from thr tips, so when used with the proper body language it cuts "C"
shappings into thr hair, thus producing curl.

Smith teaches her concept at her Academy of Design in Sevierville, TN, the only
place a hairdresser can be trained to use the shears. Students from all over the
world are flocking to her Academy to learn this new method of cutting.

In New York the cuts goes for $150.00, while in California it starts at $250.00 and
up. In the Southeast is $50.00. The reason the cut is so valuable is that up until
now the only way to get curl into the hair was with heat such as a curling iron or a
perm wave. The cut is for people with fine, straight or thin hair. Smith holds
classes once a month in Tennessee.
