Philadelphia, PA --- On Wednesday, June 13, at The Downtown Club, Lori Halber and
Joseph Centeno, attorneys in the labor relations and employment law department of
Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel will provide valuable information during a
breakfast briefing on the legal consequences of shredding, deleting, and saving
documents. Which documents must be saved and which can be discarded? How long
must personnel files, tax records, and other documents be retained and in what
format? Although the Arthur Andersen trial raised awareness about the perils of
document destruction, many corporate officers and management personnel do not know
that saving unnecessary documents may also create significant dangers.
Attendees at the breakfast briefing will learn the keys to developing a good
document retention policy and what they need to do to comply with the new
e-discovery rules in the event they are sued. Centeno and Halber will also discuss
potential liability for the improper use by employees of email, cell phones, and
other company-supplied electronic equipment.
