TASC Elects Newest Executive Board Member, Wesley Young of Debt Settlement America

Press Release Body: News Release, Dallas, Texas: Debt Settlement America’s (DSA) General Counsel Wesley Young joins DSA President and CEO, Chris Kesterson, as a member of The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC) Executive Board. Only recently being elected to the TASC Executive Board, Young has been actively involved in the organization for the better part of a year. Young was first appointed to the TASC Legislation Committee which then led to his election to the TASC Board-at-Large.

Wesley has championed for effective legislation that helps debt settlement companies that are client centered. He continues to fight for consumers to have a viable option when they are overwhelmed with debt because of a hardship,” affirmed Kesterson, DSA President and CEO.

Current General Counsel of DSA, Wesley Young, was previously a Senior Associate with Baron & Budd, P.C. in its asbestos litigation group. Wesley was named by D Magazine on its list of Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2006 and sits on the Board of TASC, the Trade Association of Settlement Companies. He is President-Elect of the Dallas Asian American Bar Association and sits as an Advisory Board member of the Dallas Bar Association. Wesley is also current chair of the DBA’s Minority Participation Committee. Wesley recently served as Chair (2005 – 2007) and committee member (2001-2005) of Panel B2 of the District 6A Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas and as Chair of the Asian Pacific Interest Section of the State Bar of Texas from 2005-2006. He was co recipient of the Outstanding Committee Chair Award for his work with the Minority Participation Committee of the Dallas Bar Association and served as Co-Chair of the national finals competition of the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition in 2004. He is admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Phi Delta Phi, Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and Christian Trial Lawyers Association. Wesley received his B.B.A., cum laude, from Baylor University in 1992 and his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 1995.
