Multimedia in association with UNESCO, New Delhi office
starts offering text content on India for travellers.
This website offering professionally created video clips on India
was formally launched in November last year. All the video clips
of the site are supported with explanatory text. The site gets
traffic from more than 150 countries and territories around the
world.
Some
of the interesting features of the site include detailed section
on traditional systems of knowledge like Ayurveda, Yoga, and massage.
The rejuvenation and detoxification programmes of Ayurveda, known
as Panchakarma are elaborately described in the site with supporting
video clips.
The
first phase of the project www.indiavideo.org
started with video clips of the state of Kerala stands completed.
This section contains hundreds of videos on this tiny state of
India. Almost all major feature of the state including travel
and picnic spots, wildlife sanctuaries, beaches, backwaters, hill
stations and traditional systems of knowledge are elaborately
covered.
The
idea behind the setting up of a video site is to document Indian
culture and heritage with digital technology and to popularize
this content via web, among India enthusiasts and travellers.
With the second phase, this Indian video site has started uploading
video clips of states other than Kerala. It is expected that the
second phase will be completed by March 2009.
