Press Release Summary: Real Estate Sales on the Upswing

Press Release Body: The Brunswick County real estate market is on the upswing according to a report from the North Carolina Board of Realtors. In March, Brunswick County home sales increased 11 percent more than the 2007 rate with 115 units sold compared to 104 the year before. The total dollars spent went from $29.7 million to $36.7 million.

Local agents and brokers say the market is not where they would like it to be, but it is improving. Most agree it will not return to the 2005 peak, but get back to a “stable” level and increase steadily rather than at the frantic rates of recent years.

Recent sales are concentrated more on the mainland than on the beaches, but most agents agree beach property sales have begun to increase. Buyers are becoming aware that Brunswick County has not seen the large devaluation of property seen in other areas of the country and are once again looking for stable investments.
