The Cairo Opera House is to play host to the Arab Music
Festival from the 2nd to the 8th of August. There are shows each day
from 9pm to 11pm each evening and this annual event is famous for
attracting large numbers of visitors each year as well as some of the
best known names in Arab music, ranging from solo singers to musicians
and groups, with the focus on local performers. Operatic groups will
also feature during the event, which has now been running successfully
for several years.
The Opera House is situated in the Gezira Exhibition Grounds and is easily reached
by public transport, with visitors able to take the metro to the Opera station.
There are also good bus links and the venue can also be reached by car for those who
prefer to drive. Tickets for the event are available directly from the organisers
and there is plenty of accommodation available nearby for those who are travelling
from other areas.
Lek Boonlert, the Head of Marketing at DirectRooms says, “This event is popular with
both local and international visitors and in order to avoid any last minute
disappointments it is a good idea to ensure that your accommodation is booked as far
in advance as possible.” The range of Cairo hotels available means that there is
something to suit all budgets, from comfortable but low cost accommodation to luxury
four and five star hotels for those who can stretch to a little more luxury.
