Turner Broadcasting has unveiled a new-look website for its
kids' channel Boomerang, in the UK, Italy and France. Boasting
interactive widescreen backgrounds and a host of new games and
applications, the new site marks an exciting juncture in the evolution
of an already successful kids online destination.
Aimed at the Boomerang channel's core demographic
of boys and girls aged 4 to 11, the new site showcases some of Boomerang's
best-loved characters, including Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Garfield.
New games include a fun Top Cat Alley Band game where kids can give
characters different musical instruments to adapt the melody. Capturing the
creative and playful aspects of the brand, other kids games include Doodle Pad games and painting games. Downloads include recipes, and
printable masks and door hangers. There are also video rating and sharing features
new to the site.
The new sites have launched in the UK, Italy and France and will be followed by
launches across Europe in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden,
Romania, Hungary, Poland and the Netherlands. It will also launch as a brand new
site available in Africa, hot on the heels of the launch of Cartoon Network in the
region last month.
The re-launch forms part of Turner Broadcasting's objective to bring all its
European websites under a centralised content management system, using Drupal
technology. It also utilises the centralised Brightcove video player to enhance and
standardise user experience in all EMEA territories.
Caroline Casey, Digital Development Director, EMEA at Turner Broadcasting said: "The new Boomerang site is beautifully designed and has loads of great new
features, which add depth and interactivity to the user experience. We're
confident that kids and parents will love it and will enjoy the wonderful range of
fun new activities."
