The story of Aida is one filled with romance and passion, as well as jealousy, anger and betrayal, with the central characters constantly torn as to with whom their allegiance lies. Taking place on Saturday October 2nd 2010, this opera in four acts is sure to capture the audience's imagination, as an Ethiopian princess is captured and enslaved, with a military commander forced to challenge his loyalty to the Pharaoh due to his love for the woman. According to the organisers, Verdi was one of the finest writers of the 19th century when it came to melodrama and the sense of the spectacular emphasised the plot twists.
