As much as teen golf phenom Zakiya "Z" Randall of Atlanta impresses with
her shotmaking, it's her giving back that even further defines this young lady.
"I enjoy the difference I am making in the lifes of people" Those are wise words
coming from a teen, but Zakiya is not your ordinary teenager. A standout-star golf
player, Zakiya "Z" may often be a young female golfer amongst men and professional
women(due to lack of elite girls and women amateur events) when she tees it up.
But her talented golf skills – and her maturity – extend well beyond her years.
"Pretty incredible" is how Wolf Creek PGA Golf Professional Randy Grebeck and
Andre Jones defines the club's girl wonder. A regular at Wolf Creek, Zakiya has
put together an impressive resume. At the very beginning, age 10 years old when she
began playing, Zakiya received “The Player of The Year” award after she won
every local tournament she entered. Continuing her run of success as a champion,
she took her golf game nationally and won majors around the country and was crowned
the 'Championship Title' on a National level.
Giving her fans a continuum follow-up of nothing but conquering the green,
Z won every tournament and championship entered which led her to the Championship
division on the popular Georgia PGA Tour. From the success at such a young age to
the style that she brings to the world sport of Golf, Z continues to demonstrate
mere perseverance, strength, power, and positive enlightenment.
Z experienced another highlight in her career by earning 1st Place Low
Medalist title in the U.S. Women’s Open qualifier in her very first time ever
playing in such an event. During the local tour, she battled against 47 pro and
amateur golfers from across the country for one of the thirteen sectional spots.
Her scores and style led her to being the youngest Atlantan to ever in history win
1st Place and qualify for the U.S. event.
"Sometimes there are tough weeks, long days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., five days. It
really gives me something to build on for the future," said Zakiya, who is a member
of Elite Amateur Men Golf Tour with the Golf Channel and Women Professional Golf
League, Zakiya's mother, Tanya, says there is a "good chance she will continue to
be selected as a featured speaker, award recipient and be invited to celebrity golf
events and Programs involving Charity, Fashion, Leadership and Excellence in 2010
and in the coming years.
Zakiya's future in golf is incredibly bright. She captured the "First Female Champion" to ever win a Championship Title on the Men's Georgia Golf Channel tour.
Recently, Z has had consecutive years of being in the top 10 on the Women's
Professional Tour and has been a continuing champion at Youth, Charity and
Celebrity events.
No surprise, Z loves the game of Golf and is so ecstatic when she can give
back to teens and express the importance and values behind teeing it up.
Z says her fans are always asking her when are they going to see more of her
on TV and she her Tee it Up with the LPGA Tour, "I would welcome and love to play
in LPGA events but I have not been offered any sponsor invites", said Zakiya.
She has been the youngest Atlantan Finalist to receive 'Female Athlete of the Year'
and many prestigious awards, black-tie and celebrity invites and medals around the
country.
This teen sensation Zakiya "Z" Randall with her solid golf skills, style and
admirable attitude off the course, watch for Z to continue to turn heads on the
links and beyond.
