There will be a party spirit in the air at Disneyland Paris later this month, as St Patrick's Day is being celebrated at the resort.

A packed programme of Irish-themed performances and activities has been put together in Disney Village, with the revelry kicking off at 18:00 local time on March 17th.

Diners heading to The Steakhouse can enjoy the musical talents of Celtic Sailors all night from 19:45, while pop-rock act Sharon Shannon will take the stage at Billy Bob's.

Shannon, who is a hugely talented accordion player and violinist, will play at 21:30 and 23:00.

There will also be a bagpipes performance and other traditional entertainment on offer over the course of the evening.

St Patrick's Day is celebrated all over the world by people of different cultures, despite starting out as a Catholic holiday.

People tend to wear green for the occasion and in Chicago the main river is even dyed this colour each year.

The main Disneyland park is open from 10:00 until 20:00, but the Disney Village will be open until late for the day's celebrations.
