British artist Tony Cragg is the focus of an exhibition entitled Figure In Figure Out at Paris's prestigious Louvre museum.

There are eight pieces by the Liverpool-born sculptor on show, including one specifically created for the installation.

Cragg, a Turner Prize winner in 1988, was invited to display his art as a counterpoint to the venue's Franz Xaver Messerschmidt collection, according to the organisers.

They explained that the distortions and superimposed layers typical of the 18th century German-Austrian can be seen in a new piece by the Brit referred to as Untitled.

Bronze, wood, fibreglass and marble creations are included in the display, which highlights Cragg's diverse approach to art.

It costs €10 (£8.75) to enter the Louvre. Cragg's work will be on show in the Cour Marly and Cour Puget sections.

The building is closed on Tuesday, but open from 09:00 local time every other day. It shuts at 18:00 daily, except for Wednesday and Friday when it closes at 22:00.
