Door2Tour.com, the escorted tour consolidator, is hoping that April's 2012 Olympic ticket application frenzy, which caused the official site to stall and the deadline to be extended for an extra hour, will rejuvenate interest in tours to London's Olympic Park.

The escorted tour consolidator offers coach tours to the Park with a number of tour operators over more than 25 departure dates between June and January 2012. Tours have been on sale since autumn last year, and while there has been steady interest in those wishing to visit the East End venue since the start of 2011, packages to annual events such as the Wimbledon and Royal Ascot have so far outsold those to the Park four-fold.

Major factors likely to have diluted initial interest are the Royal Wedding and the incompletion of the Stadium, which was under construction until 29th March.
