DirectRooms.com can announce that the Stockholm Early Music
Festival will be coming to the historic Swedish city this June,
bringing with it a selection of classical music.
The music festival will take place from 2 to 6 of June 2011. Venues that will be
opened for this event include the historic German Church in Old Town, where a
procession will lead participants at the opening of the events.
The other venues being used to host these concerts include the Finnish Church and
the Stockholm Cathedral Parrish Hall. All of these beautiful and historic venues
will provide the perfect environment for these classical musical performances. Hotels in Stockholm are conveniently located near all venues.
The focus of the Early Music Festival is to bring music from various eras and
periods to a modern audience. Amongst the many performers who will be bringing their
unique blend of old world harmonies to the contemporary music scene are musicians
who focus on early Prussian music, 18th century comedic music, the music of Bach and
the Baroque period, troubadours, mediaeval ensembles, and Italian cantata.
Tickets for the SEMF may be bought via the organisation’s website from the 11 March
onward. Ticket prices range from SEK 100 to 330, depending on the venue and seating
placements. The Parish Hall will feature some early music for children, and children
up to 12 years old will be admitted free of charge.
