The New Ellington Hotel in Leeds is the ideal place to enjoy a
contemporary city buzz with a hint of classic nostalgia, whether you’re
staying in one of its 35 stylish bedrooms, or just dropping in for a
speciality gin cocktail.
In true Bespoke style, this boutique hotel has a
strikingly individual character, capturing the funky art deco flair of New Orleans.
Its title is a tribute to jazz legend Duke Ellington, who played at Leeds’ city
music festival in 1958; and its approach to hospitality inhabits a similarly
creative vein.
The design is inventive and welcoming, anchored by a neon-lit atrium and a popular
lounge bar. The latter is fuelled by laid-back sophistication and charm, with
luxurious furnishings, walls adorned with images of jazz greats, dynamic light
fittings and a smooth soundtrack.
It specialises in gin, with 16 different premium varieties of the
juniper-berry-derived spirit to choose from and a wide range of classic and
imaginative cocktails.
Stuart Ward, General Manager of The New Ellington Hotel, said: “Located in the heart
of Leeds’ financial district, our elegant red-brick establishment has a discreet
entrance and aims to attract the more discerning guest or social drinker.
“Leeds is famed for its industrial past, but today it is a business powerhouse, with
a strong and ambitious reputation for legal and financial services. Workers within
these industries who are visiting from other cities demand high standards of
hospitality and we aim to meet them at every turn”.
“But that’s not all. Leeds is a great place for shopping, culture and sightseeing
and The New Ellington is a fantastic base for exploring the area. It is a very romantic hotel,
especially in the evenings, so is perfect for a weekend away.”
