August 16, 2011. A law abiding driver, who is very careful and considerate makes his first and foremost concern the safety not only of himself but of others as well. He does not abuse the privilege granted to him by the state - the driver's license.

The sad reality however is there are a lot of drivers that are not responsible enough and thus are involved in road accidents due to carelessness while on the road; trying to escape being apprehended by traffic enforcers for violations such as of the click it or ticket regulation that ended up to subsequently beating the red light; motorcyclist not wearing helmets; over speeding coupled with beating the red light; drunk driving or driving under the influence of prohibited drugs; and cellular phone usage while driving, among others.

These irresponsible and undisciplined drivers are trying to escape from apprehending officers for minor traffic offenses that may result to more serious problems such as a vehicular accident, no matter how minor it may be. Worst is being involved in fatal road mishaps due to undisciplined actions that of trying to evade arrest for minor violations.

These drivers may not yet be aware that their movements are already recorded simply because they are not aware that speed cameras are already installed along the highways they are into. They would not recognize the gadgets since they are busy perhaps talking to somebody on the cellular phone while driving and upon notice that there are officers, they try to pretend they don't notice them being flagged down.

Such actions should be lessened with stricter rules and higher fines being imposed on violators. Lessons should be learned by all drivers to make them more aware of the responsibilities they are taking being holders of drivers' license.

Various new traffic regulations are being adopted and others already existing are being enhanced to ensure that they are still worthy and adapts to the changes in technology. One of these innovations is the installation of Optotraffic complete red light speed cameras on various streets that law enforcers are heaving great difficulty in monitoring traffic movements.

Beating the red light, which is one the most abused traffic regulations, can be recorded by the speed camera. Not only that, the usefulness of the speed camera extends to issuance of traffic tickets and collections of fines for the violation. Thus, the obligations of traffic enforcers are lessened that they can focus their attention to more relevant details especially helping people who are victims of vehicular accidents and pedestrians that need help.

If everyone can only learn and be determined enough to follow traffic signs and abide by traffic regulations, there would never be a need to develop and install sophisticated equipment. If everyone will only be concerned of safety first before anything else while on the road, the policy makers and the law enforcers will not be burdened with so many things but ensuring that every road user is safe.

Traffic signs, rules and regulations are meant to guide all of us drivers, commuters, pedestrians and law enforcers. These are meant to ensure safety of everyone and the avoidance of any trouble to people on the streets, whenever possible.

Monitoring devices are for drivers who are fond of always beating the red light, using cellular phone while driving and over speeding but never got caught! Guys, beware!
