Hotels in London offering reduced nightly rates for duration of show

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Belgian conceptual artist Kris Martin is to have a new exhibition of his work at London's White Cube gallery in Mason's Yard. Martin's show is set to run from January 18th until March 16th.

Martin's sculptural work has been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery, and in 2007 he brought the Frieze art fair to a standstill when he called for a minute's silence to draw the crowd's attention to the present moment. This move was typical of Martin's conceptual work, in which he uses time as a framework within which he asks questions about chance, existence and desire.

Jay Jopling's White Cube has been the spiritual home of the 90s Young British Artists movement from the outset. At the turn of the 21st Century, White Cube opened a new space on Hoxton Square however, at the heart of the YBA scene. The Hoxton Square gallery closed at the end of last year, and Kris Martin's new exhibition is being shown at the Mason's Yard space in St. James's.

To coincide with the show, LondonTown.com has announced discounted rates on a number of hotels in London, all within easy walking distance of White Cube. The discounts are available when booking now through the website.

Among the deals on offer, Le Meridien Piccadilly is giving a 35% discount on double rooms, bringing the cost down to £249 per night. Le Meridien is, like most hotels in the area, a luxury, old English establishment and is less than five minutes walk from White Cube.
