Scottish singer to play the Hammersmith Apollo in April

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- With Brit awards, Olympic performances and radio play across the nation backing her, it has been an excellent few years for Emeli Sandé. From obscurity to fame, joining a group of celebrated British female singers like Adele, seems to have been taken in the songstress' stride.

Aberdeenshire-born Sande has really risen to success in the past year. Having collaborated on 'Diamond Rings' with UK rapper Chipmunk, she first entered the UK music charts in 2009.

She has since gone on to write several successful songs for other artists, but has also gained accolades as a performer. She won the Critics' Choice Award at the 2012 BRIT Awards, released a double platinum album and performed at both the London 2012 Opening and Closing Olympic Ceremonies.

TheLondon Olympics catapulted the previously little know Sandé to fame. With over 20 million people seeing her perform at the opening ceremony, Sande's album sales soared and she became the bestselling artist of 2012.

But now it's 2013 and time to move forward this April 8th and 9th she'll be promoting the release of a special edition of 'Our Version of Events', with performances at the Hammersmith Apollo as part of her 2013 UK tour.
