20,000 people expected to visit the Affordable Art Fair on Hampstead Heath this June

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- For the first time in its eleven-year history, the Affordable Art Fair has a summer date with Hampstead Heath. Famous for its friendly atmosphere and commitment to democratising art buying, the Affordable Art Fair has twice been held in a winter marquee on Hampstead Heath in November - but this year takes a bow for the first time in the popular North London green space at summertime.

The Affordable Art Fair runs from Thursday 13th June until Sunday 16th June and showcases a range of works from 113 galleries and hundreds of handpicked artists. A selection of original prints, paintings, sculpture, photography and etchings from both established names and emerging talent will be priced from an affordable £40 up to £4,000, with selected pieces featuring in the specially curated Art Under £500 exhibition.

"We're delighted to return to Hampstead to offer North Londoners the very best affordable art for a third year running. This year, we've moved the fair to June so visitors will be able to make the most of the Heath and enjoy a summer's day surrounded by art. With such a diverse range of art on sale, there really is something here for every taste and budget," said Fair Director, Romy Westwood.

Coming three months after the Affordable Art Fair's spring event at Battersea Park, the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead helps kick off the capital's large summer season of art. The fair coincides with the start of the Royal Academy's ever-popular Summer Exhibition on 10th June and comes just days ahead of the BP Portrait Award exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery - the world's most prestigious open competition for portrait painting. Other art exhibitions starting in June include LS Lowry, Patrick Caulfield and Gary Hume at Tate Britain, the Discovery of Paris at the Wallace Collection, and Vermeer and Music at the National Gallery.

Later stand-out art events in London include the capital's big three autumn art fairs in October - Frieze in Regent's Park, Moniker in Shoreditch and PAD in Berkeley Square. All of these major London events are featured on LondonTown.com, the leading website for things to do in London. Visitors attending any of London's art fairs or exhibitions can make the most of LondonTown.com's hotel booking services to find the best deals for London hotels of all budgets and locations.

Around 20,000 people are expected to attend the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead - with guests also able to get creative in artist-led workshops or enjoy one of the fair's free and informal talks and tours. Some lucky visitors will also have the chance to visit the Print Studio to join a hands-on printmaking class and create their very own drypoint print as a personal memento. The Affordable Art Fair Hampstead is open from 11am to 6pm from 13th to 16th June with tickets from £10. A special Charity Preview takes place on Wednesday 12th June from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.
