Meatopia comes to London this September

August 20, 2013, 11:16 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Tobacco Docks in east London will host the capital's biggest festival of BBQ and smoking this September. Originally conceived in New York by food writer Josh Ozersky (TIME, Esquire, WSJ and New York magazine), the event has been running successfully for ten years and now transfers to London for a celebration of BBQing and music. A number of renowned chefs and iconic restaurants will be in attendance, providing tasting samples of their top dishes. Meat lovers travelling from outside of the capital can find a number of Hotels in London on LondonTown.com.

With chefs such as St John's Fergus Henderson, Gizzi Erskine and Pitt Cue's Tom Adams creating bespoke recipes for the event, it will be a unique chance to feast on such a smorgasbord of BBQ and smoked meat. Diners will be treated to charcoal grilled deckle steak with anchovy butter from the Hawksmoor, grilled Korean chicken wings from Gizzi Erskine, BBQ pigs head from Duck and Waffle, the Rum BMC burger from Almost Famous and venison steak frites from the Wild Game Company.

To wash it all down there will be craft beer, aged spirits and a selection of wines. While side orders come in the form of live music, DJ sets, cabaret performances, art installations and a few random acts of weirdness. The music line-up features Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra, Tom Findlay of Groove Armada and the Dulwich Ukulele Orchestra. Further highlights include talks and question panels from Tom Ozersky, the chefs and additional meat experts including burger maestro Daniel Young.
