Major show of work by influential German modernist painter

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Details of Tate Modern's major autumn exhibition, Paul Klee ( 1879-1940), can now be found on LondonTown.com, along with details of nearby London Hotels.

The exhibition, which opens on 16 October, brings together works from collections around the world, and exhibits them as Klee himself once did. This privileged perspective will offer fresh insight into the artist's work.

Often small in scale but big in ambition, Klee's work is most often associated with his richly coloured abstract patchwork paintings. Klee taught at the celebrated Bauhaus art and design school in the 1920s, before being dismissed by the Nazis and seeking refuge in Switzerland. He continued to be an influential force in European Modernism, as a theorist as well as a painter. This is the first UK exhibition of his work for more than a decade.

The exhibition runs from 16 October to 9 March and costs £15 (£13.10 concessions). Tate Modern is at Bankside, London SE1 9TG.

For those visiting London for the exhibition, there are several cheap London hotels nearby, including two Novotels and a Holiday Inn Express, all bookable via LondonTown.com.
