Join the Zero Prostrate Cancer Run to Support Prostrate Cancer Research & Patient Care Programs

Overland Park, KS, -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Kansas City based KCUC have announced that they're hosting The Zero Prostrate Cancer Run to be held on Saturday, the 2nd of November, 2013 at 8.am. This is a 10K/5K run/walk in support of prostate cancer patients and starts from the Kansas City Urology Care, Overland Park. To register for the event, log on to zeroprostatecancerrun.org.

Proceeds from the money raised through the event will go towards funding local prostate cancer research and supporting local prostate cancer patient programs. It is also spent on providing free tests.

Prostate cancer is the second most cancer common among men in America. It is estimated that more than 238,590 men are likely to be diagnosed of prostate cancer in 2013 alone and about 29,720 men are likely to die of this dreaded disease. But, timely detection and treatment can ensure that patients are cured.

"This race is organized to bring together people from all walks of life including athletes, doctors, cancer survivors and their caretakers to end prostate cancer. Our aim is to fund research on this disease and provide free testing and education," says a spokesperson for Kansas City Urology Care.

"Just by registering for the event, you can make sure that a patient in need for treatment gets a free ride to the doctor. Out of every dollar that will be raised, 50 cents will be spent to fund local research, testing and support," adds the spokesperson.
