LONDON, November 05, 2013, 7:24 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Apps World London Ė Developing great Apps for mobile handsets and tablets can be hard, testing them across all the devices is a nightmare! So Babel, known as the industry leader in Mobile QA and Localisation services for the games and interactive market, has launched a revolutionary service TestMyApps.
Aimed at indie developers who may not have access to all the devices used by their potential customers, TestMyApps is a 24/7, self-service customer portal, with testing performed using real testers on real handsets and checked against our market leading database, highlighting thousands of common issues, ensuring great coverage at minimal cost. Developers can submit their App for testing on one of the largest handset libraries in the market, via the simple to use TestMyApps self-service portal www.testmyapps.net, offering a straightforward fixed-price menu and easy payment methods.
Richard Leinfellner, CEO of Babel, commented ďWith new devices coming out all the time, we know how painful and costly it can be to ensure Apps are tested properly before going to market. TestMyApps offers a cost effective menu of simple to use, standard tests developers need to ensure they do not release with show stopping, sales lowering issues. Our self-service, 24/7 portal www.testmyapps.net, gives developers real time access to test results and by using real testers on real devices we get real results.Ē
The tests available are specifically designed with the indie developer in mind;
- Essentials - is designed to confirm that your App works on as many different devices as you require it to, and will give you peace of mind that your App will not suffer from device diversity with the minimum of expense, without having to buy all those handsets.
- Standard - is a detailed functionality test, designed to comprehensively check all the critical features and functions of your App. Core areas and functionality such as menus, navigation, help/settings are all tested over the course of a full day.
- Windows Pre-cert - When you are ready to submit you app to the store it is vital to check that it meets the latest criteria and will pass submission. Babel has defined a standard test to check all the relevant criteria, using its Pre-cert test.
- Language - If you have translated your App then you will need to consider how to check the language content. Language content testing can be expensive so we have designed a low cost test, via our Language test, to check the language content in the most critical areas of your App, which your users are most likely to see. This test is available in the all the popular languages, with other languages available on request.
For some Apps, nothing less than an exhaustive QA project consisting of one or more test cycles is required. For this Babel offers its Premium test service with a customised test plan.
Babel has one of the largest handset and tablet inventories in the market and has recently added a number of Android®, IOS®, Windows 8® and Blackberry® devices as well as building up its in-house knowledge base on specific handset attributes, so is in a perfect position to offer developers a unique service of outsourced QA testing on devices they don't currently have access to.
As part of the TestMyApps service, Babel also offer translation into over 30 languages, using its global localisation team, so developers can use the same service to translate and test their Apps as they widen their audience.
