Bochum, Germany, -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Soft Xpansion has released two new features for its PDF Xpansion SDK 10: software developers may now use the SDK to implement functionality to import EMF files, to convert these files into PDF and to save the output into the applications they create. Moreover, the PDF Xpansion SDK 10 now offers extensive features for analysis and modification of both PDF and of XPS files.

With the PDF Xpansion SDK functionality implemented, end users do not need any extra programs to create, edit and view PDF or XPS files with their Windows desktop programs, server solutions or apps for mobile devices with ARM architecture and Windows RT. The prices for the components of the PDF Xpansion SDK 10 are based on lump sum fees that grant a permanent license which is neither dependent on the amount of copies of the application, nor on the number of developers. Optionally, customers may sign a maintenance contract with a minimum term of one year. The contract entitles the clients to download version updates for free and to get extensive product support.

NEW FEATURES IN DETAIL
EMF Import
The PDF Xpansion SDK 10 now may also be used to import EMF content into applications, to convert it into PDF and to save it. EMF is a graphics format that allows the usage of vector and of bitmap graphic elements in one file simultaneously. As a result, complex graphics may be applied and their size may be increased, both without any decline of quality. This functionality has been developed due to stimuli that came from clients who need PDF, as well as EMF, in their applications.

PDF and XPS Content Editing
In PDF Xpansion SDK 10, a new feature, named "Rich Content", replaces the libraries "PDF Rich Edit" and "PDF Builder", which are still available in PDF Xpansion SDK 8: on the one hand, “Rich Content” offers functionality not only for PDF, but also for XPS files. This allows the analysis of page content in both formats. On the other hand, the new functionality enables software developers to offer extensive editing features for PDF and for XPS files in their applications. This means that existing PDF and XPS objects may be modified or removed, and new objects may be created.

OPERATING SYSTEMS
The PDF Xpansion SDK 10 has been developed for applications that run on Windows 8, RT, 7, Server 2012 and 2008 (32 and 64 bit platforms).

DETAILS
Detailed information on the PDF Xpansion SDK 10 is available on the product page on the Internet. It includes a trial license, a product guide and a programming reference.
