2022Kasarwadi, Pune, India, May 16, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Engineering major Forbes Marshall has decided to implement 2 projects in Chakan to help children and women in the surrounding locality of its factories. The children’s project is a healthcare project and a second project is aimed at women to better develop their skills. For the project involving women that Forbes Marshall has started in Chakan, an urban voluntary organization called Yuva Parivatan was used as a partner. The purpose was starting a certificate course for training women in basic tailoring and as beauticians. To make this possible, skill training was implemented in one high school.
Rati Forbes who is the Director of Forbes Marshall has declared that one of the beliefs of her company is that its people should work with any community that may exist around its factories. Meeting with the communities can be a very good way to understand what they expect from the company. In fact, the concept of the two projects is based on the results obtained from the dialog between the two parties: the company and the community members.
In the children’s project Forbes Marshall partnered with the educational foundation called Kitab Korner. The two parties organized camps for children belonging to four schools of Zilla Parishad. There was also an awareness campaign involved in this second project, which was meant to raise the awareness about women health issues and the importance of better parenting techniques.
Forbes also said that she wants to begin a solid waste management project that is meant to be effective in the industrial area of Chakan. This initiative will also involve a partnership with Sandvik Asia Private Limited being the associated party. A preliminary management study is promised to be performed prior to starting the project and a CSR forum will be created for the project’s phase two.
