London’s favourite indie festival welcomes another diverse line-up of left field music

LONDON, June 04, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Now into its eighth year, Victoria Park's Field Day Festival has become something of an institution in London's live music calendar and one of the capital's best loved festivals.

Taking place over the weekend of April 7th and 8th, this year's Field Day returns to Victoria Park in East London with arguably its finest line-up yet. As ever the festival prioritises indie credibility over mainstream pop and it doesn't get much more indie or credible than Sunday's headline act, Boston's proto-Grunge legends the Pixies.

Having just release Indie Cindy, their first full album since 1991's Trompe le Monde, the Pixies are reportedly in the finest live form of their hugely influential career and promise to deliver blistering renditions of much-loved classics like Where Is My Mind?, Debaser and Bone Machine as well as numbers from their hugely anticipated new record.

Joining the Pixies on the Field Day bill will be Saturday's headline act Metronomy, who return to the festival after a memorable main stage performance in 2012 in support of new album Love Letters. Psychedelic rock outfit Temples, livewire rapper Danny Brown and Drenge, NME's recently crowned Best New Band, are among a wonderfully eclectic array of acts filling out the bill.

Tickets are available at £48.50 for Saturday, £38.50 for Sunday or £78 for a weekend pass. Attendees looking for handy accommodation in the area will be pleased to learn that London events and hotels specialist LondonTown.com is supporting the festival by offering a selection discounted hotels within easy walking distance of Victoria Park.
