Houston, Texas, July 31, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- We are pleased to announce that Change Happens is hosting its' 14th Annual Children’s Health Day on August 9th, 2014 at Almeda Mall (12200 Gulf Freeway, Houston, TX 77034) from 10 am to 2 pm. Change Happens is a nonprofit that transforms the lives of families and children in the highest-risk communities of the Gulf Coast.

After 14 fantastic seasons of unparalleled success, we continue the tradition with a truly incredible line up of performers this year to entertain the public along with our door prizes, free school supplies (while supplies last), face painting, clowns, free immunizations (please bring current immunization record) and over 60 vendors. Last year we had over 6,000 families come out and this year our event coincides with Back to School Tax Free Weekend, so we expect even bigger crowds!

This year, you will still see your favorite elements of Children’s Health Day: along with the hottest up-and-coming entertainers, many of whom have been featured all over the world. Our list of over 14 performances include globe hopping Bboy Moy, a world class break dancer/instructor doing great things for our at risk youth here in Houston. Please see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWB511jkcxk http://bboymoy.com/about

We also have the powerful flamenco duo Lucia and Val who will perform along with their students. Lucia and Val have also traveled the world for their craft. Lucia is a singer and dancer of great impact and range, especially so in live performance. Val is a guitarist of enormous creativity whose solos pay homage to the past while helping to invent a new flamenco tradition. They are great ambassadors for the difficult art of flamenco.

Mannie B is an R&B, Pop and Hip-Hop singer whom at the age of 5 got his first itch as an entertainer and has never looked back. In 2003 Mannie learned of an audition for a teen pop/hip-hop group that was being modeled after early N'SYNC but being groomed with a Disney audience in mind. Mannie took the challenge and he beat over 400 kids to be chosen as a member of the group Savvy. In 2008 Mannie carried a short but sweet stint with the former Kumbia Kings (Super Reyes) where he performed for up to 30,000 fans at a time. Mannie knew he had the talent and the team to take on his solo career so that is exactly what he did. He will be performing for us at this years’ Children’s Health Day.
