Guilford, Connecticut, November 21, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Residents and visitors are invited to “Come In and Smell the Spices®” at Guilford’s newest retail experience, The Spice & Tea Exchange®. Now located at 80 Whitfield Street, The Spice & Tea Exchange® is opening its doors to the Guilford community with much excitement.
The Spice & Tea Exchange® is unique gourmet retailer, specializing in fine spices, blends, teas, salts, sugars and more. Outside, the shop looks like just another quaint Guilford boutique. However, inside the store’s interior is reminiscent of an 18th Century Trading Post with natural wood beams, rustic product displays and apothecary-style jars lining the shelves. It’s an interactive shopping experience, where guests are encouraged to “smell the spices,” and watch Spice Masters create hand-mixed spice blends right before their eyes.
New store owners Greg and Cindy Wright, and daughter Jennifer Asbury stated that opening up The Spice & Tea Exchange® was a dream come true and something they had hoped to share with the community for a long time. Wright recalled her first experience at The Spice & Tea Exchange® in 2008; she was “hooked” and shopped for an hour while her husband waited patiently. “I love to cook, and this is a cook's paradise!” she stated.
The Wrights hope to introduce guests to new aromas and flavors, as well as inspire a more flavorful lifestyle at home by providing their customers with quality products at affordable prices. Visitors have an abundance of products to choose from with more than 120 fresh spices, over 70 hand-mixed seasoning blends, 12 naturally-flavored sugars, 24 salts from around the world, and more than 30 exotic teas. The Spice & Tea Exchange® also offers recipes, gift boxes and accessories to compliment the spice and tea selections.
Being lifelong residents of Connecticut, Asbury and the Wrights believed Guilford was the perfect location for The Spice & Tea Exchange® and knew that they wanted to be located on the Guilford town green. They have been welcomed warmly by the community thus far and look forward to connecting with their customers in the shop. “I hope our store will bring more people into Guilford center to enjoy the beautiful, historic Guilford green and all it has to offer,” Wright commented.
The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Guilford will open its doors on November 20, 2014, with plans to host a Grand Opening event in the future. For more information visit them on the web at spiceandtea.com or on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TSTEGuilfordCT.
