Performance and gallery space located in classic 1930s Modernist building.

LONDON, December 04, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- In December 2014, London will celebrate the opening of a new arts centre with the launch party for Hornsey Town All Arts Centre in Crouch End. Hornsey Town Hall, built in 1935, was one of London's first Modernist buildings. It was used as council offices until the 1970s, when it was briefly used as a performance venue before closing in the 1980s. It is now reopening on 6th December with a day of performance, music and dancing. For more on this and other venues in London, see LondonTown.com, where you will also find information about London hotels, restaurants, galleries, shops and bars.

Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre's opening party will take place on the same day as the Crouch End Festival's Christmas Market in the Town Hall Square. Entry will be free, but tickets must be booked in advance and it will be followed by two further opening parties on the following weekend, with parties on Friday 12th December and Saturday 13th December. During these events, the public will have access to many previously restricted rooms. Guests will be greeted with mince pies and mulled wine on arrival (with additional bars selling champagne, beer and wine for those who are in a festive mood). Visitors will have the opportunity to explore forgotten rooms, such as the committee room and see for the first time, within the new gallery space, the exciting plans for the forthcoming year. From 10pm the downstairs Supper Room will open with DJs and music - and dancing is encouraged.

Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre features more than 100 art studios, creative spaces and offices, all of varying sizes, available for hire as well as a variety of rehearsal and dance studios. The centre will host performances in numerous disciplines in a hall that once hosted bands like Queen and The Kinks, and will also boast a gallery space, which will exhibit works from local, national and international artists as well as giving opportunities to the building's resident artists to showcase their art.
