Vowing to give back to issues close to their hearts, Digital Lion announces their first donation to the Calgary Urban Project Society (CUPS). The professional website design firm donates a portion of their profits each year to help charitable causes. Their donation to CUPS will help support the mission of providing high-risk families and individuals in Calgary with a variety of helpful services, such as health care, parent education, and housing assistance.
“We created the program of donating a portion of profits to charity because we truly believe in doing what we can to help make the world a better place,” explains Ryan Levin, owner of Digital Lion. “Donating to CUPS is a great way to help those who need the assistance right here in our own city. It’s a great organization that helps many people and that’s only made possible with the donations they receive.”
Digital Lion’s vision is focused on “Designing a Better World™.” As part of that, they announced their plans in 2013 to donate 10 percent of all profits to charitable organizations that they believe in. Digital Lion is a company that is focused on having a commitment to charity, as well as being environmentally responsible. In addition to making charitable contributions to help issues such as poverty, the staff at Digital Lion also volunteer their time and expertise to worthy causes, pitching in where the help is needed.
CUPS was chosen to receive the donation due to their successful track record of helping people throughout Calgary. They provide health services, including medical and healthcare for low income families and individuals. They also provide education services, such as prenatal and parenting education, as well as housing assistance, including helping lower income people get the security deposit to move into housing. Last year, CUPS provided medical care to over 5,000 people, helped over 600 families in crisis, and provided assistance to over 600 people to help them attain housing.
