Yellowfin General Manager for North America, Justin Wright, said that the theme of the event – preparing the data professionals of today for the data ecosystems of tomorrow – was timely considering the rapid change occurring in the industry.

“The data that organizations are striving to capture and analyze is rapidly changing,” said Wright. “This increase in data types, sources, volumes and overall complexity – combined with the speed of analysis demanded by a quickly broadening user base – means that new technologies and approaches are needed.

“TDWI Chicago provides attendees with the opportunity to develop new skills and explore the latest technologies required to effectively harness this new data economy and deliver the insights attained through reporting and analytics broadly.”

The keynote sessions of TDWI Chicago 2015 are titled Data Management Trends in the Era of Big Data, delivered by the Co-Founder of technology consultancy Baseline Consulting, Evan Levy, and Advancing the Data Ecosystem Continuum, presented by Senior Director of Enterprise Data Architecture at Walgreens, Mike Jennings.

“Today’s data ecosystem is evolving ever faster to meet business demands for information,” said Jennings. “The data types and volume required by business for operations and analytics grow dramatically in order for organizations to respond to a changing market. New technologies bring the promise of new information capabilities to support new business needs and use cases.”

The agenda for TDWI’s Chicago conference comprises 80 presentations across seven streams focusing on “BI Essentials”, “Big Data”, “Business Analytics”, “Data Analysis and Design”, “Data Asset Management”, “New Data Ecosystems” and “Leadership and Management”.
