However the myth that “having a child with Down syndrome will be a burden on a family,” isn’t true and it is against this background that leading Danville, CA Realtor, Keith Scott Brown of Keller Williams Realty is lending his support to the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area as their RED DAY 2015 recipient.
The truth is, children with Down Syndrome have many gifts and talents. They bring joy to their family’s lives and enhance the world. Besides, there are many families currently seeking to adopt children with Down syndrome, and we are here to support this through our RED DAY (Renew, Energize and Donate) initiative.
RED DAY is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving our local communities. Each year, on the second Thursday in May (May 14, 2015), tens of thousands of Keller Williams Realty associates from across the World participate in a wide range of projects, devoting our time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve.
“May 14, will be a very special day for us and the residents of our host communities, namely Danville, Blackhawk, Diablo, Alamo, and San Ramon, and our vision for the day is that all Keller Williams associates will engage in a coordinated effort to improve their local community,” said the company spokesperson, Realtor Keith Scott Brown.
Activities for the Danville RED DAY will run the gamut, including assembling bikes for the kids, constructing exercise and play equipment, and providing any support needed by the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area throughout the day.
According to Brown, the Down Syndrome Connection of the East Bay (DSCBA) consists of a group of caring individuals, educators, therapists and involved community members whose passion and commitment is to serve families who have members born with Down Syndrome.
The DSCBA achieves this through education, advocacy, support groups for the entire family and developmental based classes for babies, children, teens and adults. Their goal is to enrich the child and adult lives through pre-academic, academic, language skills and social/behavioral interaction, ultimately preparing them for community integration as a valuable participant and contributor.
