Press Release Body = Hellomagazine.com, the daily celebrity news site, has announced an extension to its current successful partnership with Ask Jeeves (www.ask.co.uk). Ask Jeeves will now also provide web search and a site search function on hellomagazine.com. Not only will users be able to search the web directly from a search box at the top of every page, they will also be prompted with ‘contextual
links’ – searches that are relevant to the editorial pages they are viewing.

For example, an article on a new film launch will suggest links to search results of some of the celebrities mentioned within the article; eg ‘Find George Clooney on Ask Jeeves’. By clicking on this link, users are taken to the George Clooney results page on Ask Jeeves in the UK. This is the FIRST TIME that Ask Jeeves has used its unique relevancy search technology to provide ‘contextual searches’ on a partner website.

Since the two brands began working together six months ago, a record number of ‘Famous People’ searches on the Ask Jeeves site and clicks through to the hellomagazine.com site have prompted the brands to extend their relationship. Thanks to the up-to-date content provided by hellomagazine.com, Ask Jeeves is able to offer detailed information and images of over 2,000 celebrity and historical personalities. For example, a user searching for a famous UK celebrity such as
‘Liz Hurley’ will receive a picture and lead text in a ‘box out’ format directly at the top of the results page. Clicking on to the ‘more’ tab will then lead the user to a full profile of the celebrity, provided by hellomagazine.com.

Tree Elven, Website Editor, says: “Six months down the line, and I’m thrilled that we have boosted the Famous People Search into pole position! The strength of this service has allowed us to now give our users a new comprehensive web and contextual search facility thanks to Ask. I’m sure that this relationship will only help to improve our user experience over time.

“Our ‘Famous People’ search tool is one of our most popular and best performing Smart Answers. Users want up to the minute celebrity information at their fingertips and our users are showing no signs of tiring of celeb news! Hellomagazine.com is a great brand fit for us and we are delighted to continue this relationship and offer its specialist content to our users.” commented Rachel Johnson, VP of European
