Press Release Summary = NEW YORK, NY- On June 14, 2007 Disaster Chaplaincy Services (DCS), a major provider of skilled and interdisciplinary chaplaincy services in the New York Metropolitan area will host an Inaugural Tribute Event to honor its chaplains delivered outstanding non-sectarian spiritual care during Staten Island Ferry Crash, Woodycrest Bronx Fire, Sheepshead Bay Fire, September 11th World Trade Center 5th Year Commemoration and Northeast U.S. Blackout. In 2006, DCS chaplains provided skilled spiritual care to the New York Metropolitan communities by engaging in more than 1,852 contacts with individuals during crisis and disaster.

In March 2007, Disaster Chaplaincy Services and the American Red Cross in Greater New York entered into an official Statement of Understanding (SOU) to continue working relationships in preparing for and responding to disaster relief situations at all levels.
