Peace, Love and Unity Festival to kick off Tennessee Week for the Animals 2008!
July 25, 2008, Memphis, Tennessee) Animal World USA is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Tennessee Week for the Animals will kick off Saturday, September 20 from 9 am to 4 pm at Shelby Farms, a 4,500 acre breathtaking, beautiful park in Memphis, Tennessee with the Peace, Love, and Unity Festival.
This is a day that will bring animal lovers, shelters, rescue orgs, families, multi-faith orgs, neighborhood groups, civic groups and leaders, educators, musicians, artists and young people all together to promote pet adoptions and animal welfare along with peace, love, harmony and unity throughout the community. A multi-faith pet blessing is being planned that will bring scores of animals together to be one of the most special pet blessings ever conducted.
With September 20 being the kick-off of the 4th Annual Tennessee Week for the Animals and September 21 observed as the International Day of Peace, this is the perfect event to kick off the annually governor-proclaimed event, Tennessee Week for Animals.
Music will be provided by legendary Beale St. recording artist Guy Venable, Christian-soul recording artist Carolyn Long with Jenna Wallace, the Paul McKinney Jazz Quartet and the immensely popular alternative rock band, The Summers!
The festival will save precious lives through pet adoptions, build compassionate awareness for the animals, salute working K-9\'s, lift up humane leaders in the community and have fun-filled activities for the entire family. Animal shelters and humane groups will be interspersed with civic booths and fun-filled activities, including the Doggie Fun Run ...all coming together for the greater good.
From school groups to pro-community initiatives, the event will have scores of booths that promote educational and compassionate care for the animals and opportunities for citizens to become involved. There will be food and fun for the whole family, including the cherished family pets.
This special day will be showcasing the important role that animals play in our lives and is a day created to grow peace, love, harmony and unity in the community. http://www.tennesseeanimals.org/
