Press Release Body: QUEENSLANDíS peak tourism body, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), has been recognised as a STAR Workplace through its participation in a national benchmarking program that identifies excellent employers.
The HR Coach Research Institute developed the STAR Workplace Program after years of research into the factors behind staff-focused, high performing workplaces and the resulting accreditation is akin to giving outstanding employers the ďheart tickĒ of approval.
HR Coach facilitated the certification process with QTIC, closely involving QTIC staff in each step, to reveal an exceptional STAR Workplace result.
QTIC now joins other key Queensland organisations including Surf Lifesaving Queensland, Bing Technologies and several small business leaders in achieving STAR Workplace status based on strong employer satisfaction.
Daniel Gschwind, CEO of QTIC, undertook the STAR Workplace Program to boost its strategy for employee retention and to proactively develop its positive staff culture. He is proud to be the first peak body in Queensland to complete the program and be able to fly the STAR flag.
ďWe strive to recognise and empower our team and to link them meaningfully into the business strategy of our State-wide organisation. I am always on the look out for innovative initiatives which will improve our productivity and workplace environment. The quality and originality of the STAR Workplace process and support of the HR Coach team made it simple for us to identify our strengths,Ē Mr Gschwind said.
ďQTIC plays a critical role in shining a light on successful Queensland business and our ability to attract and retain great staff is vital to meeting our industryís needs, so linking our brand with the STAR Workplace Program is a real boon,Ē he said.
ďI can see that the STAR Workplace Program could be applied across industries for its relevance and focus on linking people to the businessí direction. Its backed with current state and national research findings which helped us to look ahead at challenges for us and for our sector, and work together to meet them.Ē
Founder and Managing Director of HR Coach, Louise Broekman, was delighted with the result that QTIC achieved and is already helping other business leaders to follow suit.
ďThe STAR Workplace Program is simple yet ideal for integrating people, the greatest resource a business has, to its ability to plan, operate and be profitable,Ē Ms Broekman said.
ďItís rewarding to work alongside organisations like QTIC who are demonstrating their leadership within the tourism sector and as a key industry body by committing time and effort to empowering their people.Ē
The STAR Workplace Program offers organisations of all sizes and industries a means for measuring and monitoring team performance and its impacts on business success.
