ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ANNOUNCES PLANS TO REVITALIZE THE ARTS IN DOWNTOWN
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS
Expansion Plans Include ALL AGES New LIVE Entertainment events,
Mother’s Day Brunch with Smooth 87.7 Rick O’Dell Live,
the Bakery debut of the North shore Cake Boss, Joseph LoChirco,
and New opportunities for local area youth musicians!
Arlington Heights, Illinois – March 30, 2011 – Downtown Arlington Heights is already
a bustling center for dining, business, and theater. It will soon boast recurring
monthly special events aimed at increasing the Metropolis Ballroom of Arlington
Heights’ commitment to the community and youth in the area.
With this fresh infusion of talent and excitement, the Metropolis Ballroom is well
on track to more than double the guest presence downtown Arlington Heights, creating
more walk through clientele for downtown restaurants and bars. This will also
increase community awareness for the wide variety of businesses, visitor amenities,
and theatrical productions in the downtown proper.
Celebrating an upcoming series of public ALL-Ages events, the Northwest suburban
based event venue today announced a new series of live entertainment events. This
historic venue grants guests VIP status with up-close and personal access to a
renowned roster of artists. Maximum capacity is 400 people, and this creates an
intimate atmosphere that will showcase the artists. Double feature dinner events and
meet and greet opportunities sell out fast with fewer than 150 tickets available,
allowing the lucky ticket holder the opportunity to meet the featured artists,
mingle and chat with them live.
“We are thrilled to bring top level national talent to Arlington Heights,” said
Thomas W. Manetti, president of the Metropolis Ballroom of Arlington Heights. “We
already have exciting events planned through fall, and the prospect of bringing the
best in up-and-coming American musical artists for the enjoyment of the neighboring
community is very exciting. Also, my goal is to be able to utilize these events as
an outreach for local area youth who are interested in the performance arts.” We
plan to feature youth talent to open our all ages concerts, and donate to the
school, church or organization from which they came. We also look to introduce
young bands from the local area and original music.
ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE
“On stage at the Metropolis Ballroom,” is a series of planned live entertainment
events already scheduled through the end of the year.
2011 Spring / Summer lineup Beginning with May 8th - MOTHER’S DAY SMOOTH 87.7
BRUNCH from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM with Rick O’Dell broadcasting live from the ballroom
on Chicago's Smooth Jazz Radio- WLFM-FM from 11am – 2pm featuring on-air
personality Rick O'Dell. Rick will be spinning the best in Smooth Jazz and talking
to Mother’s day guests live on the radio as we delight you with our Mother’s Day
Brunch offerings.
Our Brunch is MORE than food, it’s an event! In addition to our gourmet culinary
offerings from the Ballroom’s head chef and unlimited champagne, every mom will
receive a flower. We are eager to showcase our bakery line and the debut of the
North Shore Cake Boss, Pastry Chef Joseph LoChirco. President and Owner Thomas W.
Manetti along with Executive Pastry Chef Joseph LoChirco plan to offer an expanded
selection of bakery delights and pastries to dazzle our friends and guests this
spring. Our goal is to create brand awareness and bring wonderfully fresh bakery
goods to the community.
Our Mother's Day Brunch menu includes amazing selections such as: Banana stuffed
French toast, carved prime rib of beef with horseradish sauce, decorated smoked
Salmon, hand-selected stuffed portabella mushrooms, oysters on the half-shell, and
crab-stuffed shrimp.
