DirectRooms.com reports that Italy’s Mottola will be the place
to be in July for fans of guitar music as the city welcomes players of
all styles for a series of concerts, competitions and classes.
The forthcoming events are all part of the Mottola Guitar Festival where audiences
can hear the best sounds and music that can be produced on the guitar. Guitarists
will be coming from America, France and Argentina as well as from all over Italy to
play at the event and this international line up is expected to produce some great
evenings of entertainment.
Dedicated guitar concerts will be played by ensembles along with duos and soloists
and they’ll be combining to cover a comprehensive range of guitar styles including
classical, rock, country, new age and jazz.
Players can also enter into one of the festival’s competitions for young and more
experienced guitarists whereby they’ll have to perform a selection of required
pieces along with some of their own favourites. Up to €1,500 is available for the
winner and the total prize money is €4,500.
People travelling from cheap Naples hotels can find the festival as it runs for just over a week from 2nd to 10th
July 2011. During that time players can sign up for master classes from leading
experts who are due to give lessons on how to play specific styles including the
complex finger style, baroque music and the mandolin.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “Hotels will be filling
up in the area with players and visitors so people should go online to book early.”
