As the ski season fast approaches many of us are itching to get ourselves psyched for what promises to be a season to remember with record snowfall already being predicted in the Alps amongst other top destinations. Many of you will already have booked your chalets and will be preparing to leave these dreary shores for something cooler and much more fun. Many of us are still trying to juggle other commitments and create a space for a decent winter break – to those of you good luck. In the meantime, to get you in the mood for the slopes, we’d recommend you head to this year’s Relentless Freeze Festival which promises to be the most exciting warm up you could possibly have to the winter season.

The Relentless Freeze festival is the UK’s only music come skiing come snowboarding event and promises to be absolutely spectacular for all of us party going ski and snowboarding fans out there. The festival has been running for a few years now and is the perfect mix of thumping tunes, dirty beats and incredible winter sports – this year all set at the slightly less wintery destination of Battersea Power Station in our very own London.

The biggest draw for many people will of course be the music but it’s the skiing and snowboarding that really will be turning the most heads as the cream of the international crop head to London to ride the 32 metre high jump being constructed from over 500 tonnes of real snow. Friday sees the international freestyle skiing competition which will feature the very best international skiers plus of course a lot of home grown talent. Britain’s very own Dom Harington letting us know just how epic the jump is “It’s quite scary at the top because you can feel it wobbles, but it's an amazing scenery over the whole of London from up there.” Jacob Wester, Gus Kenworthy and Jossi Wells will also be taking the plunge along with a host of the other international superstars of the ski world promising to make the event as memorable as possible and to get you itching to make your first jump of the season. Saturday sees the snowboarders take to the jump with the best the world has to offer, competing for some epic prizes in the Europe v The World ski and snowboard battle. You can expect to see some incredible tricks from the likes of Jamie Nicholls and James Woods as they compete to win the title for Europe and complete the snowboard final world cup.

The music on the other hand promises to be equally stunning. The festival has seen some great names over the last 3 years including Cypress Hill and Pendulum but this year promises to top the lot with 4 stages competing to bring you the very best live music available anywhere in the country. Headliners are set to be Groove Armada and the Streets who will be performing one of their last ever gigs. These epic acts will no doubt be the biggest draws but with bands ranging from Daniel P. Carter to Dirtyphonics you’re really going to be spoilt for choice.

And that’s not even to begin to mention the whole host of other stuff that will be going on from the latest kit on sale to the chill out bars and après ski parties. This promises to be the best pre-season ski event on the planet so grab your tickets now before they’re gone.
