Scenic Tours Voted ‘Favourite River Cruise Line'

Scenic Tours has been voted ‘Favourite River Cruise Line’ at the 2011 Telegraph Travel Awards, after 23,000 Telegraph readers were surveyed.

The prestigious award confirms Scenic Tours’ status as the foremost luxury tour operator of European river cruises, providing travellers with the finest cruise ships, customer service and itineraries with included and exclusive attractions.

Jane Archer, Cruise Correspondent for the Telegraph, paid tribute to Scenic Tours at the annual Telegraph Travel Awards Ceremony, which was held at London’s Renaissance Hotel on October 25:

“Scenic burst onto the European scene in 2008 with a vessel that helped drag river cruising out of the backwaters. The vessel had bigger cabins than other European river cruise boats, full-sized balconies, suites with butler service and an Italian speciality restaurant.

“Scenic also won admirers by including almost everything in the cruise price, from travel and transfers to gratuities. Scenic Tours [now] has a fleet of five vessels on the Rhine and Danube, with a sixth launching in 2012.

“New for 2012, the company has added cruises in Burgundy and Provence in France and along the waterways that link Moscow and St Petersburg in Russia.”

Chris Townson, Managing Director of Scenic Tours UK, was delighted to receive the river cruise award at the ceremony from host Rory Bremner.
