Bonnie Brae Celebrates 100 Years of Helping At-Risk Boys In New Jersey

Liberty Corner, NJ, April 20, 2016 — /EPR NETWORK/ — Bonnie Brae, an extraordinary school and a safe haven for boys in crisis ages 8-21, is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary! Since 1916, when Bonnie Brae was started by Judge Harry V. Osborne, Bonnie Brae has helped over 10,000 New Jersey boys and families.

Today Bonnie Brae serves nearly 100 boys at their main campus location in Bernards Township while also serving an additional 21 young men in their transitional living homes in New Brunswick, Bound Brook and Bridgewater.

Virtually all of the boys Bonnie Brae serves come from a family in crisis, and many have a history of abuse, trauma or neglect. Bonnie Brae’s successful track record of turning around boys and young men is based on a foundation of richly experienced professionals including: Child Care Workers; Clinicians; Nurses; Child Psychiatrists; Pediatricians; Support Staff; Substance Abuse Counselors; and Teachers. These professionals employ a strengths based approach to treatment that encourages discovery and growth of existing talents and many opportunities to learn new skills.

“The day will be an historic coming together of people from almost all of the eras of Bonnie Brae’s history: alumni, family of the Founder, current families, former staff, community members, and supporters all joining together to celebrate this incredible milestone, and the incredible life-changing work that has been done.” CEO, Bill Powers.

Bonnie Brae will commemorate its anniversary with a Centennial Event on May 21st from 12-5 at their main campus located at 3415 Valley Road in Liberty Corner, NJ. The celebratory event will be filled with food, fun, games and prizes for both children and adults.
