Adaptation of little-stage Vercors piece runs at the theatre throughout January

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Theatre fans and those curious in both West End and off-West End theatre will be intrigued and enticed by the Trafalgar Studios' New Year programming for January 2013.

Opening on 10 th January and running until 2nd February 2013, Silence of the Sea sees Anthony Weigh adapting this French novel, written in 1942 and published under the false name of Vercors. The author was later revealed to be Jean Bruller.

Silence of the Sea tells the story of a German solider billeted to a home owned by an old Frenchman and his niece. Unable to stop his involvement in their domestic life, the pair use silence as a weapon whilst the solider, unbeknownst to them, dreams of reconciliation and brotherhood between the two nations of France and Germany.

A much-loved and profound novel, here it is brought to life on stage by Donmar Artistic Associate Anthony Weigh and director Simon Evans. Some dates already have limited availability so West End fans are advised to book fast if they want to secure seats at this intimate and central venue.

For theatre fans travelling up to London for the event – or Londoners hoping to make a night of it – LondonTown.com, the number one internet site for London, has pooled together some great deals on London hotels in hot spots, for good discounted prices.

Those travelling up for the 18th January (a Friday) can bag a great double room just around the corner – a 4* bed in the Luxury Design Hotel The Trafalgar Hotel London for £132 a night, a discount of over 60%.

Other options for the same night include £94 for a double at the Charing Cross Guoman Hotel, also a few minutes walk from Trafalgar Square and London's West End.
