Monocle magazine set to open Marylebone café

Alongside shop offering luxury products from around the world, new café venture will sell Japenese pastries, plus meeting space for subscribers

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Fans of smart design and fancy conversation with a little spare time and disposable income in Marylebone will no doubt be delighted to stumble upon the latest venture from the Monocle team.

Those who love books and trendy Scandinavian shoes are sure to beenamoured. The Monocle café is that rare thing, a hotly anticipated new addition to the London restaurant scene which is not centred around a big-name chef, but rather part of an all-round experience.

Monacle magazine is a publication which covers everything from current affairs to culture in an intelligent way, as well as a website that has a host of articles and features on cutting-edge design, products, current affairs and slick happenings across the globe.

The Monocle Café is just a brief stroll fromMidori House, home of Monocle magazine. Located on Chiltern Street cafe, also a short hop away from the Monocle shop on George Street, just off W1's exclusive Marylebone High Street, the café opens this month and will no doubt extend the magazine's atmosphere of elegant consumerism.

It will offer 'simple dishes and hearty drinks' and creamy roll cakes produced by a team of Japanese pastry chefs. You can also stay in touch with the magazine and its coverage of news and current affairs, as Monocle 24 will be broadcast live from the café.

And for those uninitiated in the Monocle way of life, there is ample opportunity to familiarise yourself with the brand in the new Chiltern Street space, where visitors will have access to a comprehensive collection of Monocle back issues.
