Ten consecutive days of live performances from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, Lionel Richie, JLS, Elton John and much more

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- A new blockbuster event comes to London this summer with Barclaycard presents British Summer Time, 10 days of music, comedy and entertainment taking place in Hyde Park from Friday 5th January to Sunday 14th July 2013. Two huge weekends of live music from some of the greatest acts on the planet bookend four mid-week evenings of live comedy and entertainment in London's most popular Royal Park.

American rockers Bon Jovi get things off to an anthemicstart with an opening night gig alongside Kaiser Chiefs and Bush on Friday 5th July. Day two sees The Rolling Stones roll back the years with support from indie rock outfits The Vaccines and The Temper Trap on Saturday 6th July. The first Sunday of British Summer Time sees The Beach Boys and Paul Young take to the stage - and expect the tears to flow freely as boy band JLS perform as part of their farewell UK tour before splitting up.

The second weekend of live music welcomes Elton John and his band to the stage on Friday 12th July, with support from Ray Davies and Elvis Costello. After selling out their opening gig in just five minutes, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood return to Hyde Park for a second night as part of their 50 & Counting Tour, The Rolling Stones performing alongside support acts Jake Bugg and Tom Odell on Saturday 13th July. The concluding night of British Summer Time on Sunday 14th July sees Lionel Richie headline alongside Jennifer Lopez, with support from Eliza Doolittle and Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rogers, with his dance outfit Chic.

Four low-key but high-octane nights of mid-week live comedy sees headline performances from seasoned master of mirth Kevin Eldon on Tuesday 9th July and the inimitable oddball Russell Kane on Thursday 11th July. The likes of Paul Foot, Robin Ince, Lucy Beaumont and Jarlath Regan work the crowds as they test out material ahead of the Edinburgh Festival. The Comedy Store Players presents a night of hilarious improvisation on Monday 8th July, while Paul Chowdhry headlines a Laughing Boy Comedy Club night on Wednesday 10th July. As well as comedy, other events and entertainment will take place throughout the week during day time hours, including Sky Movies film screenings, children's theatre- such as The Gruffalo - and cooking events with acclaimed British chefs James Martin, John Torode and Phil Vickery.

Promising a top class mini festival inside London's biggest and most central park, British Summer Time replaces Hard Rock Calling and Wireless - both of which have moved East to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this summer - and promises 10 days of top-notch open-air entertainment. Across Hyde Park there will be four themed zones (Main Stage, Barclaycard Unwind Theatre, Village Hall and Bandstand), each with its own installations as well as restaurants, salons, pubs, cocktail bars, cafes, bistros and food stalls. Tickets start at £35 for the live music events and £12.50 for the comedy nights.
