The Canadian singer-songwriter comes to one of London’s best loved music venues

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Canadian folk-rock singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright brings her expressive voice and arsenal of powerful songs to the Union Chapel at 7pm on Thursday 15th August 2013 and fans of her music can book a hotel in London close to the well-known Islington music venue and enjoy a night out in London.

Martha Wainwright broke onto the scene with her eponymous debut album in 2005 while her kookily titled second album, I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too, proved Wainwright's stock was on the rise, with The Observer claiming the record represented a sure-footed, emotionally engaging step up the ladder.

Her latest album, Come Home to Mama finds the New York-born, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter singing songs both inspired by and written for her mother and son.

Part of a musical dynasty, Martha's parents Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle are folk legends while brother Rufus is also a well-known performer and composer with his own loyal following.

Martha Wainwright is supported by Luke Sital-Singh, a singer-songwriter from New Malden in south-west London who will be opening the show at the unique Union Chapel, a Grade I listed building and a magnificent example of Victorian gothic architecture, widely regarded as one of the best places in London to experience live music.

The concert is a highlight of the live music events in London this August and for anyone planning to visit London this summer, a comprehensive list of events can be found on LondonTown.com where readers will also find a wide range of London hotels to suit all budgets, restaurants, bars and cafes reviews as well as information on the city's sights and attractions.
