London's biggest free jazz festival returns to capital this August, with cheap London hotels available from LondonTown.com

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- On Friday 16th August, London's biggest free jazz festival descends on Canada Square Park. For the next three nights, Canary Wharf will hum to the sounds of internationally renowned jazz artists including Carleen Anderson and Jason Rubello. To coincide with the event, LondonTown.com is offering cheap London hotels at special rates.

Leeds-based Cuban violinist Omar Puente will perform with a ten-piece band fronted by singers Rene Alvarez and Yuri Moreno. Puente's previous collaborations include Nigel Kennedy, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Jools Holland, and he has maintained strong ties with Latin America, having teamed up with Venezuela's Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra, and countless fellow Cuban musicians. Fans can expect to hear tracks from Puente's Courtney Pine-produced solo album From Here to There.

Carleen Anderson is virtually jazz and soul royalty. Her mother is American singer Vicki Anderson, her stepfather was the legendary producer Bobby Byrd, and her Godfather was James Brown (whose other famous godchild was soul music itself). Most of her career has been forged in England, where she has led the Young Disciples and the Brand New Heavies, and had phenomenal solo success. Her Ronnie Scott's set earlier this year was described by The Guardian as immaculate. Anderson will close the festival with what promises to be an equally well-received performance, kicking off at 6.45pm on Sunday 18 th August.

Other big names include Soweto Kinch, the Nathaniel Facey Quartet, YolanDA Brown and the Zoe Rahman Quartet. Festival organisers advise jazz fans to arrive early for this literal free-for-all. To help travelling concert-goers find affordable accommodation in the city, LondonTown.com are offering reduced room rates in select hotels close to Canada Square Park.

Among the cheap London hotels on offer, the London Marriot at West India Quay less than five minutes' walk from Canada Square Park is knocking 73% off deluxe double rooms for guests booking through LondonTown.com. The reduced rate brings the cost of a night's stay down to just £84.

Overlooking the waterfront is the Hilton Canary Wharf Hotel, a short stroll from Canada Square Park. Junior suites are being reduced by 84%, bringing the cost of a night's stay down to £249.

Both featured hotels are only available at the reduced rate when booking directly through LondonTown.com. For more information on the Canary Wharf Jazz Festival, and to view more cheap London hotels, visit the website. http://www.LondonTown.com
