The starting points for each unique and curious design are the beliefs and imagery of her Turkish heritage; and yet it was a simple love of stones that set this talented young designer on the path to creating her eponymous jewellery label, now available at Avenue 32.
Belgian-born and Turkish-inspired, Vanessa Kandiyoti had always admired jewellery, art and culture, but had originally studied Law, until her travels through Latin America affirmed her love of jewels and stones. This was the genesis of her jewellery and design work.
Using the unforgettable imagery of her beliefs and superstitions, the designer has created a range of necklaces, bracelets and charms which marry beautiful 18 karat white, rose and yellow gold with magical diamonds, sapphires and other conflict free stones.
Her classic, mythological designs are more than just attractive fashion pieces but good luck charms; talismanic symbols of good luck and safety. One of the most predominant symbols recurring throughout the collection is the traditional Evil Eye.
