Adrian Lester to star as Othello in the Southbank’s big theatre complex

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- It's one of Shakespeare's most widely taught and performed tragedies; and he is one of television's most recognizable drama stars, having taken the lead in Hustle.

This year, Adrian Lester will meet William Shakespeare on the stage of the Olivier Theatre (the space rather aptly named after an actor who once played the role Lester is to take on in slightly different circumstances).

The play in which they meet? Othello, the tragedy of jealousy, mind games and easily convincing misogyny, which sees noble' Moor Othello convinced that his new wife Desdemona is unfaithful for which he kills her.

Adrian Lester will bring his own take on ' Othello ' tothe National Theatre this spring the show runs all through April. The jealous and conniving Iago will be played by Rory Kinnear, winner of best actor in the Evening Standard's drama awards after his 2010 portrayal of Hamlet.
